Events

Both Tarrant and Dallas County are packed with things to do and destinations to visit. Weekday and Saturday events at American Airlines Center in Dallas are served by regularly scheduled eastbound and westbound train trips. Events at Dickies Arena, Fort Worth Stockyards, and Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth are also served by regularly scheduled eastbound and westbound trips via bus connection at Fort Worth Central Station.

Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks: A westbound train will depart Victory Station (AA Center) 20 minutes after the end of ALL Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks games that begin after 6:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday. These trains will be noted on the events schedule below with this designation: (+20)

Note: On non-AAC event nights, TRE will operate all trains per the published public timetable.

The LEGO Brick Convention will be held at The Simmons Bank Pavilion at Dickies Arena Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21.

The Simmons Bank Pavilion is located on the North side of Dickies Arena, under the Simmons Bank Plaza.  Patrons will park in the yellow lots and enter the Northeast Exhibit entrance on the street level.

For the Fort Worth Brick Convention, professional LEGO Artists will be coming in from around the United States to display their amazing LEGO creations and to meet with fans. There will also be meet-and-greets with LEGO celebrities.

LEGO fans will be able to get creative in the Construction Zone, with thousands of bricks available, as well as live builds to watch and engage with. Galleries have also been set up with life-sized and extraordinary LEGO models on display.

Other attractions include:

  • LEGO Retail: purchase LEGO merchandise, retired LEGO sets, new LEGO Sets, Hard-to-Find LEGO, and goodies from multiple different vendors
  • Star Wars Zone: Amazing LEGO creations from the Star Wars universe
  • Brick Pits: with thousands of LEGO bricks to build with
  • Castle Build Zone: build a medieval LEGO creation onsite
  • Professional LEGO artist meet-and-greets
  • Fan Zone: epic LEGO creations built by local fan builders

The event will be supporting Creations for Charity with a portion of the proceeds going to the all-volunteer nonprofit organization. Creations for Charity is an organization that buys new LEGO sets for underprivileged children around the world during the holidays.

The first act narrates the tale of a forbidden romance with Wagnerian grandeur and themes that call the cycle’s other operas and characters to mind. FWSO Music Director Robert Spano leads the orchestra and star vocalists in a special concert version of this act, preceded by Sibelius’ Symphony No. 6, which the composer poetically described as “cold spring water” and the “scent of first snow.”

While the battle for the title of National Champion won’t kick off until April, The 2024 women’s gymnastics season is officially underway. This year promises to be exciting, as the defending National Champions, the Oklahoma Sooners, are ranked number one in the way-too-early rankings for the 2024 season. Last year, fans witnessed Oklahoma, Utah, LSU and Florida compete in an exciting final session. Oklahoma claimed their sixth National Championship in eight years. The University of Florida finished second, followed by the University of Utah placing third and LSU placing fourth. All four of the 2023 Four on the Floor teams are projected as a top 10 team in the 2024 season.

Fans can get in on the action ahead of teams making their way to Fort Worth by selecting a college gymnastics team to cheer for. Mainstream sports fans can follow this guide to select a team. Ahead of April, the National Championship trophy will travel to Fort Worth, so locals and fans will have the chance to see the trophy up close. Last year’s trophy tour included the Fort Worth Zoo, the Museum of Science & History, City Hall, the Cattle Drive and more!
